Each paid component of Gideon Tax has a toll target. While it is being built, people pay to use it. When it reaches its target, that component opens under the Christian Open Source License.
The road pays for itself. Then the road becomes public.
The 5-5-5 Model
Total: $15M — then Gideon Tax is fully open source.
Inside the “everything else” bucket, the first toll road is Gideon Transmitter with a target of $10,000.
One exception: human labor always stays paid. Code can be opened. Time, judgment, and responsibility cannot.
1040 Pricing — Tax Year 2026
Filed in 2027Individual federal income tax (Form 1040). Other tax types (corporate, excise, estate, gift, etc.) will be priced separately as they launch.
No upsells. No “you unlocked a higher tier.” No surprise charge because your taxes turned out to be less simple than you hoped. No maze of add-ons at the end. Just clear pricing up front.

If you file early at $40 and Gideon Tax ends the season at a lower tier, we refund the difference. Early customers help us grow, but they should share in the benefit when scale brings costs down.
Referral program
Refer someone who files a paid 1040 with Gideon Tax and your own 1040 gets cheaper — or free. Each referral counts once the referred filer has paid and filed successfully.
More than 10 referrals: Gideon Solutions sends you a souvenir (to be determined).
Top 10 referrers of the season: personal invitation to a special Gideon event, in person.
How a referral counts — read this before you start referring
- One referral = one other person who pays for and successfully files a Tax Year 2026 Form 1040 with Gideon Tax.
- Filing only an extension (Form 4868) does not count as a referral. The referred filer must complete and pay for the full 1040.
- Discounts apply only to your own Tax Year 2026 1040 filing — not retroactively to prior years or forward to future years.
- “Top 10” is measured at the close of the Tax Year 2026 filing season. Ties are broken by earliest qualifying referral.
We put these rules up front, in plain sight, on purpose. We are Christian and honest. You should know exactly what you are signing up for before you refer anyone.
